Published: 23/06/2021

Poet, broadcaster and award-winning children’s author Michael Rosen joins Barbara Matthews (Executive Dean of Culture) and Sandeep Mahal (Director of Nottingham UNESCO City of Literature) live in conversation this Friday.

Care in the Time of Covid will see Michael talking about his latest work, Many Different Kinds of Love: A Story of Life, Death and the NHS.

This eye-opening book explores Michael’s experiences after he contracted COVID-19 last year and the seven weeks he spent in intensive care. Featuring a collection of prose poems as well as moving accounts from the nurses and doctors who cared for him, Michael’s latest work offers a personal perspective of the pandemic and insight into the ongoing efforts from care workers on the frontline.

This free event will be livestreamed via YouTube as part of the Critical Poetics Summer School public programme, from 7 – 8 pm on Friday 25 June. No booking required.  Find out more about this event on the Critical Poetics website.
