NTU’s response to the Government’s ‘Living with COVID’ plan
Published: 24/02/2022
This week the government has announced a reduction in COVID-19 measures.
We are all encouraged to take our vaccinations and get our boosters when offered; this remains the best possible way to protect yourself and those around you against COVID-19.
Testing
There is no longer an expectation that you take a test before coming on to campus. However, Lateral Flow Tests will remain free via gov.uk until Friday 1 April 2022 and are available at our main campus receptions while our stocks last if you choose to do so.
Should you develop COVID-19 symptoms, then please make a careful decision as to whether you come to campus ahead of taking a test. Behave as you would if you suspected you had flu.
If you test positive, Government advice is that you should isolate for five days to protect those around you. Please also let us know via the NTU Coronavirus Tracker Form. We can then make sure you have the support you need, whether this is food parcels or explaining how a Notification of Extenuating Circumstance may help you or perhaps even giving you financial advice.
Face coverings
Although face coverings are not required on campus anymore, for some of us they have become a way of life and wearing them – or not – is a personal choice that we should all respect.
Face covering requirements may remain for situations outside the University, such as some shops and public transport.
Safety on campus
Hand sanitiser stations will remain in place across campus, communal areas will continue to be cleaned on a regular basis, and our ventilation systems will stay on full fresh-air circulation.
If you have any questions or concerns in relation to our approach, please email us at ntu.beingoncampus@ntu.ac.uk.
Enjoy the rest of term.
