Become a Global Summer School Student Buddy

Staying in Nottingham this summer? We are looking for NTU Global Summer School Student Buddies.

Do you love NTU and Nottingham? Do you like creating and running social events? Do you want to meet and support students from around the world whilst learning something new or enhancing your current NTU studies? If you answered yes, you could be a fantastic Global Summer School (GSS) Student Buddy.

We are looking for students to help us welcome, support, and run social and cultural activities for international students joining us both online and in-person for our GSS this July. In return you will join one of our courses worth £1,200 for free. You can see the list of courses that you can join on our Global Summer School website.

Global Summer School Online

This runs from Friday 30 June until Friday 7 July. Your duties will begin mid-June when you will help to welcome and engage students in conversation via our GSS Online Team. You will support us to run four informal and fun social and cultural online sessions.

Global Summer School On-Campus

This runs from Sunday 16 until Friday 28 July. Your duties will begin at the beginning of July when you will help us to welcome and engage students in conversation, answer any questions they may have about travelling to Nottingham, NTU and Nottingham as a destination, and help us to create a 'GSS family' before they even arrive.

You will join students at all our social and cultural activities including bowling, evening socials, Robin Hood city tours, a visit to the National Justice Museum, and a day trip to York, helping to support and engage them to ensure that they have an amazing time with us.
