Take a sneak-peek inside our new Design and Digital Arts building
Published: 30/11/2023
In spring 2024, we'll be opening a brand-new building for Design & Digital Arts at City campus, with cutting-edge facilities that will help our students prepare for successful careers in the growing creative industries.
Designed by award winning architects, the new Design and Digital Arts building will be an exciting new UK hub for film, animation, motion graphics, VFX, games design, graphic design and more.
Here’s a taste of what’s in store:
Inside the new building, there’ll be collaborative studio spaces, a virtual production studio, in-camera VFX and black box studios for visual effects and motion capture. Plus exhibition spaces, editing suites, a sound studio and even a new cafĂ©.
Works onsite are progressing quickly now. The main building structure is complete, and the contractors are now focusing on completing the cladding and glazing. As you walk past the site, you’ll see multiple trade teams working on all floors (where many of the rooms are at an advanced stage ready to receive final finishes) and the atrium feature staircase frame.
The main construction works are due to finish in spring 2024, followed by a specialist space fit out of the internal spaces. We’re really excited to see our plans come to fruition and we’re looking forward to seeing our Nottingham School of Art and Design students inside the building, using these sector-leading facilities.
