Things will be different both in and outside the classroom, and getting to know a new culture and language is exciting, but not always easy. This is why NTU and the Nottingham Institute of Language and Intercultural Communication (NILIC) have created the Developing Intercultural Academic Study Skills (DIASS) module - an online self-study course for international Masters students.

It consists of eight interactive and fun units, will help you acclimatise to life at NTU and in the UK, prepare you for your academic studies, help you to embrace diverse communities and develop your intercultural communication knowledge and skills.

The course contains:

  • bite-sized activities
  • videos and messages from fellow students and staff members at NTU
  • quizzes
  • top tips to help you remember key information
  • links to services to help you navigate the wealth of support and resources available at NTU.

Complete it at your own pace and choose the topics according to your own needs and interests.
