Commemorating Stephen Lawrence Day at NTU
Published: 02/04/2025
Stephen Lawrence Day (SLD), observed annually on 22 April, honours the life and legacy of Stephen Lawrence, a Black British teenager whose racially motivated murder in 1993 sparked a national conversation on racial injustice.

His story led to crucial changes in UK law and policing and continues to inspire action towards a fairer, more inclusive society.
More than a day of remembrance, SLD is a call to action – an opportunity for individuals and communities to challenge discrimination and work towards meaningful change. At NTU, we’re marking the occasion with events and activities that encourage reflection, education, and action.
Upcoming events
