Earn while you learn: part-time work
Published: 19/09/2025
Whether you're looking to earn extra money, gain valuable experience, or boost your CV, part-time work can be a great option—and we can help you find it.
One of your first stops should be the NTU JobShop—a dedicated service helping students find part-time, temporary, and seasonal work.
Another great option is Unitemps, an in-house recruitment agency offering a range of flexible, paid jobs. From admin assistants to student ambassadors, Unitemps roles are designed to work around your timetable.
Not all companies use job boards, so be sure to check their websites and reach out to them as well.
Don’t miss our Part-Time Jobs Fair on Wednesday 15 October, 11 am – 3 pm. It’s a chance to meet local employers, find out about live vacancies, and get instant advice from the JobShop and Employability team.
We also offer lots of support to help you tailor your applications and get ready to dazzle at interviews. Take a look at our CV, cover letter and interview support or you can book an appointment with an Employability Adviser.
No experience? No problem
Many students come to uni with minimal to no work experience. We asked our Unitemps recruitment consultants what they look for in first-year job applicants. Here are their responses:
- a genuine interest in the role
- effort put into the application
- transferable skills
Transferable skills can be gained from lots of different experiences. Reflect on any previous work, volunteering and even your education.
