Nottingham has been granted the Purple Flag award for the sixteenth consecutive year! The award recognises the diversity, vibrancy and safety of a night out in the city.
The Purple Flag award recognises the ongoing commitment of organisations across our city to prioritise the safety and overall experience of all those who are socialising in Nottingham, enjoying its many vibrant dining, entertainment, sporting and cultural venues.
Keeping you safe at NTU
We want you to feel safe and secure whilst you're out and about in Nottingham. Here are some of the measures we have in place to help you.
Our security team
Operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and across all our campuses, the number for our security team can be found on the back of your NTU student card.
We also have emergency security points (ESPs) located on City, Clifton and Brackenhurst campuses, which enable you to reach our security team in an emergency.
A dedicated University Police team
PC Alex Leggett and PCSO Martin Fisher are on campus as your dedicated University Police team to provide reassurance and keep you safe. Find out how they can help or email NTUpolice@notts.police.uk to get in touch.
Safe taxis scheme
If you've run out of cash and can't get home safely, then we've got you covered. Our safe taxis scheme, in partnership with Nottingham Cars, will get you home and you can pay at a later date.
Safe places
Our City, Clifton and Brackenhurst campuses all have safe places that are staffed by NTU Security and Wardens and open across evening hours.
