New murals bring colour and creativity to campus

Four painted murals have been designed and installed across City and Clifton campuses and the wider community this summer, as part of an annual project run by NTU Arts, in collaboration with Nottingham School of Art & Design.
The project gives students on illustration and graphic design courses access to paid work experience to prepare them for their future careers, whilst bringing colour and creativity to the spaces they decorate.
From Nottingham Trent Students’ Union, to Clifton Sports Hub and Boots Library, colleagues from across the University have been involved in briefing and shortlisting the winning designs which are inspired by nature, transformation and beyond.
This year also saw the introduction of VR technology which one student used to sketch their design onto the wall, developing a new skill in the process.
Although the scale of the mural felt daunting at first, seeing the design gradually come to life made it one of the most rewarding projects I've worked on.
