Employability awards
Make your experience at NTU count and boost your employability with the NTU Award.
This flexible award encompasses all that you do as an NTU student in, and outside of university. Achieve certificates by setting yourself goals, completing activities, and reflecting on your personal development.
The NTU Award is available to you right from enrolment to the day of graduation – simply ‘click and go’. It provides a fully-tailored solution; where and how you complete the award is entirely up to you.
NTU Employability is here to support and help structure your activities.
As well as looking great on your CV, LinkedIn profile or as evidence of your achievements at a job interview, the award will also help you make new connections and gain knowledge and insights about you and your future.
Each activity must contribute to one of the four development areas that make up the NTU Award.
Applying knowledge
This piece of the Developing with NTU puzzle is all about putting theory into practice. Your course provides you with specialist, in-depth knowledge, which, as part of the curriculum you’ll apply to assignments, group work, exams, and work-like experience. This will all help you to demonstrate your potential and recognise and transfer your learning across a range of different areas.
Exploring where you want to be
This part investigates the endless possibilities you have for your future and helps you decide which path to take. It gives you lots of time to consider different career options and module choices and helps you develop your confidence.
Understanding yourself and making connections
This focuses on you as a person, your values, attitudes, and behaviours, as well as the different kinds of connections you make. Throughout your lifetime, you and your network will grow, adapt, and develop. This section is all about preparing you to navigate your personal and professional journey.
Learning from experience
This section reflects on the experiences that shape who you are and what you want from life and work. Every experience, be it positive or negative, will develop your understanding and appreciation for your future. It all helps to establish your interests and motivations.
Award classifications
There are three classifications of award, Bronze, Silver, and Gold. What you have to do to achieve each one is outlined below.
