Employability Promise
We're proud to offer continuing support for our graduates. Discover the support available to you, how you can sign up for additional support and to learn about our Employability Promise.
Our promise to you
There are some things that lectures and theories just can't teach, and that's where our Employability Promise comes in.
We've got your future covered. If you're an undergraduate student, you'll enjoy eight weeks of hands-on, employer-facing experience which we include as standard on every single undergraduate course. Whatever course you're studying, you'll benefit from the specialists, opportunities and training programmes that'll help you build that vital self-knowledge.
If you're wanting more connections and experience, you can even complete a year-long industry placement on many of our courses - both postgraduate and undergraduate. It's a great way to learn what your subject looks like in the real world.
We're here to help you develop a better sense of yourself: to know who you are, what you're capable of and what matters most to you. As much as anything, employability's about establishing a sense of identity and purpose.
How we support you during your studies
You'll have access to a huge range of offers, opportunities and experts, including:
- personalised careers information and advice
- industry-specific support

The commitments and offers of our Employability Promise stay on the table long after you've graduated. In addition to the support highlighted above, you will also receive the following:
- careers advice and coaching for recruitment processes
- graduate job alerts aimed at NTU graduates
- access to exclusive workshops, initiatives, and events
- access to our LinkedIn communities for each graduating year.
How we support you after you've graduated
The commitments of our Employability Promise stay on the table long after you’ve graduated:
- For to three years after completing your course, you'll retain access to our employability experts and face-to-face career coaching sessions, as well as access to online support forever.
- You’re also welcome to attend our cross-campus careers fairs, and you’ll have free access to our Employability Hubs, Student Wardrobe, and graduate-level vacancies which are exclusive to NTU.
- The post-graduation opportunities don’t stop there — if you’re looking to supercharge your professional prospects, you could take part in our Graduate Careers Academy, and enjoy access to NTU’s Graduate Elevate Week event.
- The job market’s a competitive place. If after 12 months you’re not in work or further study, our Employability Promise matches you with a paid placement to help get the ball rolling. This ground-breaking programme — the Graduate Internship Scheme — is just one more level of safety and support you can count on (subject to eligibility).
- Join our LinkedIn communities for each graduating year - they are the place to stay in contact with NTU, get tailored graduate advice and peer-to-peer support from fellow graduates at the same phase of their career.
Am I eligible?
Yes! From your first day on campus to the years after you’ve graduated, our Employability Promise has got your back. And when we make a promise, we mean it!
Graduate Internship Scheme
If the dedicated package of support outlined here hasn’t helped you to find suitable employment 12 months after graduating, you may be eligible for NTU’s Graduate Internship Scheme. *
NTU’s Graduate Internship Scheme is a short, paid opportunity to help eligible graduates into a graduate-level role. The internship scheme is designed to provide you with relevant graduate-level industry experience. Many graduate interns are offered permanent roles from the internship scheme, while many more benefit from the experience the internship gives them and find permanent work shortly after.
