Green European Travel Scholarship

NTU Global rewards students for choosing sustainable transportation method while abroad.

About the scholarship

NTU is committed to working towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, enabling a sustainable culture and reducing our environmental impact. One of the most effective ways we can do this is to reduce our carbon emissions.

NTU Global is now offering the Green European Travel Scholarship, which awards £250 to encourage students to:

  • participate in a European overseas sustainability project and / or
  • travel to their European placement, study abroad, exchange, conference, short course country in a sustainable way.

This could be:

  1. reducing emissions from transport both in the UK and your host country
  2. reducing air pollution by travelling to, and around, your host country by train, ferry, bus, tram, electric vehicles, including visiting other European countries
  3. getting involved in sustainable projects in your host country.

Who can apply

This scholarship is open to all fully enrolled NTU students who:

  • are participating in a European sustainability project and / or
  • undertaking a period in Europe as part of their NTU course and are committed to travelling to, and around, their host country in a sustainable way - train, ferry, bus, tram, and/or electric vehicles. This includes visiting other European countries whilst undertaking their overseas experience
  • have their overseas experience / project approved, as part of the application process, by a named academic
