Moodjuice helps you think about emotional problems and work towards solving them. This handy online resource offers self-help guides and will help you learn about different mental health conditions.

Mindfulness and meditation
Meditation and breathing exercises are a quick and simple way to make you feel calmer. They can help you destress if you're feeling anxious or worried.
Mindfulness walks on campus
Our mindfulness walks are a great way to take some time out, clear your head, and get re-energised. Lasting around 20 minutes, the walks offer you the chance to take some time out of your day to relax. These simple step-by-step guides take you on a set route. They include mindfulness exercises for you to do as and when you feel along the walk.

Creative wellbeing sessions
There's a lot of research that suggest creativity is beneficial for our mental health. Healthy NTU are working with the Nottingham School of Art and Design to run creative sessions that are great for your wellbeing.
These sessions offer you the chance to try something new, meet new people, and take some time to relax. The sessions are open to all students — you don't need to have an artistic background.
Regular sessions will include:
- life drawing and still-life drawing with Laura Quick, all materials provided
- zine-making and craft workshops. You'll learn how to make your own zine
- alternative craft activities such as badge-making and rock painting, all materials provided
- NTU Arts sessions

Local organisations and support groups
The British Council offer a free course to international students to support the transition to life and study in the UK. It covers a range of topics including: dealing with cultural shock, understanding the UK higher education system, building healthy habits, creating social connections, achieving study-life balance and more.
Cruse provides support and information for those who have been bereaved. The NTU Chaplaincy can also support bereaved students. You can talk with someone experienced in helping people think about death. They can help you celebrate the life of a loved one at a time when it can be very painful.
Sometimes it's helpful to talk to someone outside your family or friendship groups. They can support you in expressing your feelings in a safe environment. Please email us to arrange a convenient time to meet you.
Nottingham and Derby Social Anxiety Group organises events for anyone who suffers socially. It's a welcoming setting to make friends, improve social skills, and gain confidence. The group is open to people who have an anxiety disorder, depression disorder, or a mental health problem. You must be over the age of 18.
Nottingham Recovery Network is for people who use alcohol and drugs in a problematic way. All support, advice and treatment is free. You must be based in Nottingham city. Please contact them to book an appointment.
Students Against Depression has been developed in consultation with students who've been affected by depression, low mood, or suicidal thoughts.
Nottinghamshire Crisis Sanctuaries provide mental health crisis support to the communities of Nottinghamshire.
NottAlone offers local mental health advice and support. It's available to young people in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.
Nottingham Counselling Service is available by telephone on 0115 950 1743.
Nottingham Talking Therapies Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Talking Therapies is a free and confidential NHS service designed to help with common mental health problems such as stress, anxiety and depression. Anyone aged 18 years or over and registered with a GP can access support, though a GP referral is not necessary as you can self-refer.
NTU Pride is Nottingham Trent University's Pride Society. This LGBT+ group supports, represents and welcomes people of many differing sexual orientations and identities.
Notts LGBT+ Network provides information and support for lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, and trans people.
POW has supported sex workers in Nottingham for 30 years. It's a peer-founded support charity. POW has a separate project specifically for people under 25 and students who are involved in the adult entertainment industry. You can also find them on Instagram.
Pregnancy Choices Directory offers unbiased pregnancy and abortion counselling.
Women's Aid is the national domestic violence charity. It helps up to 250,000 women and children every year. Go to Juno for a Nottingham-based service.
