Join NTU Commercial Awareness Society’s Virtual Insight Schemes
Ever wondered what a trainee solicitor actually does on a working day? Struggling to evidence your interest in law firms beyond just online research? Wish commercial law firms would open their doors and give an open account of what actually goes on there and more importantly, how you can get there?
If you answered yes to the above questions, then the new Virtual Insight Schemes (VIS) by the NTU Commercial Awareness Society (NTUCAS) could be the opportunity that you’re looking for.
NTUCAS have partnered with two of the country’s leading commercial law firms, both with offices here in Nottingham, Freeths LLP and Geldards LLP . Over the course of two weeks, trainees at each of the firms will share video accounts of a day-in-the-life of a trainee solicitor. You’ll be able to view their behind the scenes stories via NTUCAS’s social media platforms.

Geldards LLP Virtual Insight Scheme : Monday 28 June – Friday 2 July
This is a great opportunity to gain valuable insights and a comprehensive understanding of what it’s like to be a trainee solicitor, which could really benefit your Vacation Scheme.
As well as detailing their key tasks and responsibilities, the trainees will outline:
- how they deal with the responsibility of working on commercial issues
- their interactions with their team
- if being a trainee affects their social life
- how they receive feedback and develop their commercial awareness
- and much more!
Graduate Recruitment Q&A
NTUCAS will be hosting an Instagram live interview with the Graduate Recruiter from each respective firm.
Students are invited to join and listen or use the interactive text to submit questions to the recruiters. This is an incredible opportunity to hear directly from the people who review your Vacation Scheme and Training Contract applications on what they are looking for, as well as what to avoid.
