Student safety

The safety of our students and our colleagues is at the heart of everything we do at NTU. The university and students’ union work closely with local partners and venues to ensure the safety and wellbeing of students both on and off campus.

Students may have seen some stories in the media about Nottinghamshire Police investigating reports of individuals suspecting their drinks have been spiked, with a small number of victims saying that they have also been spiked physically.

Although we have had no confirmed reports of such incidents on University or NTSU premises, our security teams remain vigilant and the students’ union has increased security at its venues. We would also encourage anyone who sees anything suspicious to report it to the police immediately.

We would like to remind students who require support or advice regarding any matter relating to safety and wellbeing that they can contact student support services here. Further useful information on safety and security, along with a range of other important topics, can be found here.

The university also has a 24 hour security emergency number available on 0115 848 2222 where students or colleagues can report any issues.
