Santander Celebration Award: apply now for a chance to receive £10k to support your education

NTU is inviting funding applications from students to the Santander Celebration Award giving you the opportunity to receive a grant to support your education.
Through the support of Santander Universities over the last few years, NTU has enabled a number of individuals in our community of colleagues, students, graduates and alumni to achieve great things across Education, Enterprise and Employability. The good news is we’ve extended our partnership with Santander!
We’re celebrating this, and the re-signing of the Santander BECAS portal, by offering three members of our NTU community the chance to receive a grant to support your education, professional development, research, or business idea. The three prizes include one grant of £10,000 and two grants of £5,000 available to all current NTU students, graduates, alumni, and academic and professional services colleagues.
What can the funding be used for?
The funding can be used to support the following areas:
Education
For one student to further their education experience:
- through contributing to current study costs
- by enabling them to further their education
- to support a year in placement
Professional Development
For one person or team to extend their professional skills and knowledge relating to their current role:
- by undertaking a professional course
- by taking a sabbatical to further develop their skills
Research
For one person or team to expand their research capabilities or impact:
- by contributing towards research costs
- by enabling travel to conduct research
Enterprise
For one person or team to further develop a business or business idea:
- by conducting market research
- contributing to costs of start-up or growth (capital or revenue)
- through implementation of new to business innovation
How can I apply?
To apply, you’ll need to submit a 500-word statement through the Santander BECAS portal stating which theme you’re applying to, the impact the funding will have and how the BECAS platform has assisted your application. The competition closes on 30 November 2021. Selection will be undertaken by Executive and Senior members of NTU.
