Laptop loan scheme

Our libraries offer short-term laptop loans free of charge. You can borrow a laptop for between 4 and 24 hours from any of our campus libraries.

£20 printing and photocopying credit each academic year

Your student card will be loaded with £20 at the start of each academic year for you to use on our library and study area printers and photocopiers.

Learning support programme for academic skills

Studying at degree level requires a particular set of academic skills. You can access academic skills support throughout the year to ensure you make the best progress with your studies.

Check out what’s available including topics such as critical thinking, academic writing, referencing, and maths and statistics. You can learn with our expert library staff or Library Student Mentors – the choice is yours.

Free wifi across all our campuses

You can get online wherever you are on our campuses, from lecture theatres to NTU halls of residence, just select ntu-wifi in your network settings and enter your NTU ID and password.

Free copy of Microsoft Office 365

When you enrol, you are automatically provided access to Microsoft 365 for all your communication and study needs.

Office 365 is web-based which means all services can be accessed from wherever you are located. This includes access to Outlook and Calendar as well as the full suite of Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.).

LinkedIn Learning

All students have access to LinkedIn Learning. You can take online, expert-led courses relevant to your studies, your future career or just your personal interests. You can watch bite-sized videos or take in-depth courses and earn certificates to add to your LinkedIn profile.

LastPass – your online password vault

NTU provides a free subscription to Last Pass, an online password vault, allowing you to safely store your passwords. Just sign up using your NTU email address.

Virtual PC – remote access to the University desktop environment

With our Virtual PC, you can use your equipment at home to access the same software that you would find on campus in our libraries and open access areas. You can even access some course-specific graphical applications and Adobe programmes if you are already able to do so on campus.

Software Hub – over 300 software titles available

When on campus and connected to ntu-wifi you can access and download over 300 software titles onto your personal PC. These can include anything from Microsoft Teams to software needed for your course.

Discounts on Adobe software

If you need access to Adobe software you can purchase a licence of Adobe Creative Cloud at a discounted price through our online store. Licences last for an academic year. Make sure you have enough space to install it before purchasing.
