Employability events

Ever wondered what events and and career development opportunities you can access at university? Want to gain better insight into getting your career journey started?

Look no further than NTU Employability’s events. Open to all students and occurring throughout the year, they offer employer sessions, workshops, and careers fairs. Each one provides you with the skills to help give you a competitive advantage when completing your applications.

From networking with employers and hearing all about what they want from their applicants, to discovering where your degree can take you, we're here to help!

Careers fairs

Employability careers fairs run within the first and second terms of the academic year. All students are welcome, no matter their degree. However, it's worth noting that some of our fairs may be held exclusively for certain industries or academic Schools (for example, Built Environments and Law Fairs, etc.) Be sure to keep this in mind if there is a particular industry you're looking to pursue.

A dashboard for each fair will be available to view beforehand. This lets you see which employers will be attending, find out about the kind of opportunities they have on offer, and where they will be located on the day.

The dates for all our Careers Fairs in the 2024-2025 Academic year can be found here, so be sure to save the date!

Where can I find employability events?

All events can be found on the MyEmployability website on the Events tab. This is where you can book places on upcoming workshops and employer sessions.

You can filter through or search for the specific event you are looking for, or just browse the list.

Employer sessions

These provide an insight into a particular industry or company and what they look for in candidates. The sessions offer advice, guidance, and information about upcoming graduate programmes. They can also help you with job applications, and how to make yours stand out.

Employability workshops

Our “How to…” workshops provide lots of tips and tricks on how to navigate certain aspects of the application and interview process, to help you secure your first job.

If you require help with preparation for your interviews, how to write a cover letter, or need support with psychometric tests, our workshops are the perfect place for you!

Final year support and exclusive events

Your employability journey doesn’t have to be daunting. We have dedicated final-year support on our website to get you thinking about life after university.

Our final year drop-in sessions provide a casual way for you to ask questions about finding work. Plus, dedicated final-year conferences are a great way to hear from our alumni who can share their own hints, tips and experiences. It's also a great opportunity to network and make useful contacts.
