Placements

Looking for a Placement? NTU offers a variety of positions throughout the year. Gain a new perspective as a member of staff and some valuable work experience for your future applications. Don’t take our word for it, here’s what current placement student Lucy Midgley had to say about their experience in one of our Events Teams:

"Working as the events assistant in the employability team, has allowed me to learn and develop an understanding of graduate and placement roles not just relevant to my degree but also a variety of different sectors. During my placement I have developed a variety of skills such as my attention to detail, confidence and communication. The support from staff ensures that not only do you excel within the role but also ensures you develop the skills needed for final year and beyond. I very much would recommend working for NTU and I am going to miss the team and the events a lot next year."

Placement opportunities open throughout the year and cover a variety of departments including:

  • Employability
  • NTU Enterprise
  • Sports Marketing
  • Sports Science
  • Sustainability
  • Student Services

Integrated Work Experience in your course

As part of your course, you’ll receive integrated work-like experience opportunities, this could be working to employer briefs, undertaking research projects and more. These opportunities help to put your knowledge into practice and are great examples to add to your applications.

Not sure how to use these experiences in your applications? Talk to a member of our team who can help you reflect on what you’ve learned and how you can apply this to applications.

Working as a graduate at NTU helped me transition into the world of work. The support from the team was amazing from the start, and I was allowed to develop with the responsibility handed to me

Myles McLeod, 2023 graduate who currently works on the Employability team

The Graduate Internship Scheme was extremely helpful! It not only allowed me to gain the necessary experience needed in order to apply for other jobs within the creative sector, but it gave me the space and time to realise my true potential as an employee. Could not recommend the programme enough
