Information outlining the financial support available from the Student Loans Company in the 2020/21 academic year.
Further education students from England in 2020 / 21
Further education students studying at NTU in 2020 / 21 may be able to get help towards their course, living costs and childcare.
This is the support that is available:
- 16 to 18 Residential Bursary Fund if you’re aged between 16 and 19 and have been obliged to move to study as your course is not available locally
- Residential Access Fund 19+ if you’re 19 or over and have been obliged to move to study as your course is not available locally
- 16 to 19 FE Bursary Fund to help with specific costs, such as course costs and travel
- Care to Learn to help with childcare costs
- Advanced Learner Loan if you’re 19 or over

Full-time UK home undergraduates from England in 2020 / 21
This is the support that is available:
- A Tuition Fee Loan: Up to £9,250 per year to pay for your tuition fees
- A Maintenance Loan: Up to £9,203 depending on your household income and whether or not you will be living in your parental home during term time. (Students in receipt of certain benefits can get up to £10,490 per year)
- Student Finance grants: if you have a dependant
- University bursaries or scholarships: for eligible students

If you are not from England your funding package will be different. Students from Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland can find further information about entitlement and eligibility for student finance from their national Student Finance Service.
Part-time UK home undergraduates from England in 2020 / 21
This is the support that is available:
- A Tuition Fee Loan: Up to £6,935 per year to pay for your tuition fees.
- A Maintenance Loan (dependent on circumstances): the amount you can apply for depends on the length / intensity of your course, household income and whether or not you are living in the parental home during term-time.

Undergraduates from the EU in 2020 / 21
This is the support that is available:
- A Tuition Fee Loan: Up to £9,250 per year to pay for your tuition fees.

Postgraduates from England studying a Master’s course in 2020 / 21
This is the support that is available:
- A Postgraduate Master’s Loan: £11,222 paid to you directly.
This loan is paid over the duration of your studies. For example, if you study over two years you will be paid £5,611 in each academic year.

Doctoral students from England and Wales studying a Doctoral course in 2020 / 21
This is the support that is available:
- A Postgraduate Doctoral Loan: £26,445 paid to you directly.
This loan is paid over the duration of your studies. For example, if you study over five years you will be paid £5,289 in each academic year. Further information about the eligibility criteria for is available from Student Finance England.
Doctoral students from the EU studying a Doctoral course in 2020 / 21
This is the support that is available:
- A Postgraduate Doctoral Loan: £26,445 paid to you directly.
This loan is paid over the duration of your studies. For example, if you study over four years you will be paid approximately £6,611 in each academic year. Further information about the eligibility criteria for is available from Student Finance England.
