Celebrate Martin Luther King Day with NTU Faith

Published: 13/01/2021

Join NTU Faith on Monday 18 January to celebrate Dr Martin Luther King (MLK) and the faith-inspired work that he did, for MLK Day.

Dr Martin Luther King was a significant figure within the Civil Rights Movement that took place in the United States during the 1950s and 60s. A social activist and Baptist minister, King sought equality and human rights for African Americans, the economically disadvantaged and all victims of injustice, through peaceful protest, right up until his assassination in 1968.

NTU Faith are hosting a virtual event to recognise how King’s faith inspired work challenged diverse faith leaders and communities across the world to tackle racial and social justice. The event will have several exceptional speakers exploring how Dr Martin Luther King himself was influenced by different faith religions and philosophies in the cause for love, peace and equality. Speakers include actor and director Ramanjit Kaur, Reverend Dr Richard Davey and Kamla Pattni, Founder and Chair: Celebrate Our Similarities (CoS)

If you would like to be part of this MLK Day celebration, please reserve your place online, prior to the event.
