Give back. Get paid. Boost your life skills. Become a CERT Student Mentor.

Published: 18/02/2021

Do you want to give back to your NTU community and get paid for doing so? Do you want to help other students to get the most out of their NTU experience? Then why not apply to be a Collaborative Engagement and Retention Team (CERT) Student Mentor?

Right now, community feels more important than ever, and our Collaborative Engagement and Retention Team (CERT) Student Mentors have played a vital role in supporting and guiding our first-year undergraduate students at NTU.

You’ll probably remember how you felt when you first joined NTU, all of the questions you had and emotions you experienced. Now is your chance to share your knowledge and experience to help support the next cohort of first year undergraduate students.

No matter what your first year of university looked like, you will have picked up valuable knowledge that you can share to help new students adjust to university life, from settling into a new city, to building relationships with your fellow students.

Become a CERT Student Mentor

This is your opportunity to give back to the NTU community and positively impact the experience of new students – simply by being you. You’ll work as part of a team to support students from your own course and School by helping them to feel a sense of course community, identity, and belonging.

Not only will you be improving the student experience of others, but this is a fantastic opportunity to develop your own life skills. CERT Student Mentoring is completely flexible around your studies. Plus, it’s a paid role offering a chance to improve your confidence, communication, organisation and team-working skills.
