Join a virtual social action project in Fiji this summer

Published: 27/04/2021

Spend this summer developing your employability while learning about Fijian culture and making a difference to local communities.

Complete a virtual internship with Think Pacific this summer

Think Pacific, one of our Community Engagement and Volunteering team’s five international charity partners, are bringing you an exciting opportunity. They are looking for NTU students to participate in their International Virtual Internship programme, allowing you to gain international work experience and support global communities from wherever you are in the world.

The internship focuses on the development of a social action project, which can be undertaken in a variety of areas, including business and enterprise, global health, international development, environment and marketing.

You will work with charity trustees, social entrepreneurs, international development teams, local Fijian staff and government advisors to help tackle development issues and achieve real outcomes. All you need is a computer, phone and internet connection.

We are really pleased to let you know that NTU is funding 20 places on this programme for students who are in receipt of an NTU Bursary (on a first come, first served basis). Usually £495 each, we are offering each space for just £35 to Bursary holders.

If you would like to apply for one of these places please register your interest by Monday 24 May.

If you are not in receipt of an NTU Bursary you are very much welcome to apply directly with Think Pacific through their website.

This flexible opportunity allows you to gain work experience on a flexible basis that suits you. You can complete the internship over 4, 8 or 12 weeks, based on your availability.

There are regular start dates throughout the summer months so you can take up the internship at a time that suits you best. The following start dates are available for 2021:

- Monday 7 June

- Monday 21 June

- Monday 5 July

- Monday 19 July

This is a great opportunity to gain unique experience in the charity and NGO sector, while developing your skills and boosting your employability.
