Easing of lockdown restrictions: return to campus

Published: 11/05/2021

We are delighted that following the latest easing of COVID-19 restrictions all NTU students are now able to return to campus from Monday 17 May.

If you have been studying remotely until now, your school will contact you later this week with further information about what this complete return to campus means for you.

Being on Campus

Our campuses are open and ready to welcome you all! Please visit our being on campus pages for all the details on accessing the library, study areas, going to the gym and visiting our on-campus cafes.

Once on campus, please ensure you wear a face covering in our buildings, follow social distancing guidelines and, if you are on campus regularly, please take a Lateral Flow Test twice a week as a minimum.

Travelling and testing

If you are returning to campus for the first time, please ensure you test before you travel where possible. Lateral Flow Testing is available on each NTU campus. If you did not take a test before returning to campus, you should test on arrival and again three days later. Home testing kits will also be available for collection from our on-campus test sites from Monday 17 May.

If you are travelling internationally, please ensure you follow the latest quarantine advice appropriate to the country you are travelling from or through.

Self-isolating

If your test is positive, please complete the NTU Coronavirus tracking form so we can support you. We will keep in touch throughout your isolation period and ensure you have all you need in terms of food and financial and wellbeing support.

Vaccinations

Please make sure that you are registered with a GP, either at your term or home address, to ensure you are invited for your COVID-19 vaccine as the rollout continues.

Latest Government restrictions

We are proud of the way our NTU community has navigated through this extraordinary year: with resilience, calmness, and maturity. Please continue to follow all Government guidelines to help stop the spread of COVID-19. You can keep up to date with what is permitted as we move out of lockdown on our website.

As usual, the Minister responsible for universities has written you a letter that she has asked us to share. You can read it here, although I have summarised all the key points above.

We look forward to seeing all our students back on our campuses and I hope you enjoy the rest of the academic year, in particular once the assessment season is over.
