2024 is shaping up to be a year of elections, with Mayoral Elections taking place on Thursday 2 May 2024, as well as a General Election on the horizon.

The first of these – a vote to elect an East Midlands Mayor –  is part of a deal to transfer powers from the Government to a local level worth £1.14 billion of funding, known as devolution.

Voting is your chance to have your say and help to shape how your local area is governed. The voting process consists of checking you’re eligible, registering to be able to vote, and then voting.
