Creative ways to make the most of Term Three

Term Three might be synonymous with deadlines but there are plenty of creative ways you can make the most of your downtime with NTU Arts.

From free craft workshops to open mic nights and book clubs, they’re an opportunity to take some time for yourself, connect with like-minded students and prioritise your wellbeing – plus they’re all free or low cost. Keep reading to find out more about what you can look forward to in the coming weeks.

Becky's Book Club is a weekly meet-up to chat about a specially chosen Book of the Month. There is a free copy of each book each month for the first 50 students who book a place and commit to two sessions.

Take a break and enjoy one of our free lunchtime concerts. From vocal to instrumental, classical to folk and jazz, enjoy performances from our talented students in a relaxed setting.

Join the Writing, Reading and Pleasure (WRAP) team for this relaxed small and friendly hang out. You’ll meet people like you who always have a book on the go, or who want to write stories, poems and scripts.

The NTU Band Programme presents Moonlit, recent winners of the 2025 Metronome Battle of the Bands. Expect grooving neo-soul, jazz and RnB.

Join leading UK session drummer and educator Allan Cox as he introduces a ground-breaking concept 'Slow Hands, Fast Ears' to the drumming community for the first time at this free workshop. Grab your sticks and practice pad and get ready to embark on a musical journey.

Get your glad rags on and end the week in style with NTU's award-winning Big Band at Metronome. Enjoy swing and jazz classics at this event, with our musicians and a very special guest performing your big band favourites.

Join us at Metronome or live on YouTube for a night of new words and music from our student artists. Expect original and inspiring rap, spoken word and poetry exploring Modern Britain, home and hope, and performances from our anthology competition winners – and some very special guests.

We run free weekly crafting workshops on everything from drawing and painting to stop motion. You don’t need any previous experience and all materials are provided.
