This activity is open to the public, NTU students and NTU staff.

Please note that the date of this event has moved to Thursday 15 May. All tickets remain valid.

What does it take to be a drummer today? Speed, chops, or highly developed technique?

Social media might suggest otherwise, but the reality is quite different. For a successful career as a working drummer, speed and chops are, for the most part, irrelevant.

In this free workshop, leading UK session drummer and educator, Allan Cox, will explore the essential skills and tools for drumming success. For the first time, Allan will introduce the groundbreaking concept of “Slow Hands, Fast Ears” to the drumming community—a principle he has developed, studied, and taught for nearly 50 years.

So, grab your sticks and practice pad, and get ready to embark on a journey to truly create music at the drums.
