Whether you’re an experienced creative or just looking for ways to meet like-minded students and try something new, there are plenty of opportunities to make your time at NTU more memorable with NTU Arts – the University’s extra-curricular arts programme.
From free creative workshops like pottery and painting, to discounted theatre tickets, concerts and gallery exhibitions, there are events and activities for every interest. Plus, they’re all free or low-cost.

Drop into the NTU Arts Fair on Wednesday 14 October to explore all the creative opportunities available on campus and beyond. From writing and reading, to music, art and more – get your hands on giveaways and join in with free craft activities.
Do you sing or play an instrument? Maybe you’re looking to learn? Get to know the facilities on offer at our Music Centre, or head to a rehearsal or jam to see what it’s like to be part of one of our ensembles. Find out more.
Keep an eye out for Pop Choir – it’s all about singing for fun, making friends, learning by ear, and vibing to the music you love!
From a weekly book club and consultations with our Book Doctors to creative writing socials, there are plenty of opportunities to connect with fellow lovers of words at our reading and writing events.
Drawing, stop motion, pottery, and painting are just a few of the creative activities you can try in our free weekly workshops. No previous experience is necessary, and all materials are provided.
Get a first look at our latest exhibitions at Bonington Gallery with live music and refreshments by booking free tickets to this launch event. Our Gallery Director Tom will also be hosting a free lunchtime walkthrough where you can deep dive into the creativity behind the artwork.

Our heritage visits are a great way to get to know some of the city’s most iconic venues. This term we’ll be heading to the City of Caves, Wollaton Hall Walled Garden, Nottingham Playhouse, the National Justice Museum and Bromley House Library.
We’ll also be visiting Brackenhurst Campus for an evening exploring the life and works of Nottingham-born artist Arthur Knighton-Hammond in a guided tour of his pieces currently on loan to NTU in Main Hall.
Take a break from studying and see talented students perform in a relaxed setting at one of our Free Lunchtime Concerts. From jazz to classical, there’s something for everyone.
Join us as we head to some of the city’s best theatres for a variety of performances, all at discounted prices. This term you can look forward to Matthew Bourne’s The Car Man and Mamma Mia!
Interested in taking to the stage yourself? Our monthly drama workshops at Nottingham Playhouse are a great way to learn acting styles and techniques from the experts.
From our annual Carol Service and to our Christmas Spectacular concert, we’ll be rounding off Term One with a whole host of festive fun to get you in the Christmas spirit.
