Relieve exam stress with these free creative activities

Need a break from exams and deadlines? NTU Arts has a whole programme of creative events designed to help you explore your artistic side.

Acrylic tile painting

From pottery and theatre visits to creative writing and gallery tours, here are some of the free activities you can get involved in during Term Three.

Acrylic tile painting

Our weekly tile painting sessions are a chance for you to get creative and make your mark on campus as we’ll use the tiles you paint to create an NTU mural!

Drawing

Between Drawing for Fun with Nonsuch Studios and drawing classes with Hannah Sawtell, you can sharpen your illustration skills with the help of professional artists. Invite your friends for a couple of hours of doodling fun.

Music workshops

Did you know NTU Music run DJ workshops during term time? They’re free to attend and a great way to try something new.

Free Lunchtime Concerts

If you prefer to experience music rather than create it, take a break and enjoy one of our Free Lunchtime Concerts. From vocal to instrumental, classical to folk and jazz, enjoy performances from talented fellow students in a relaxed setting.

Stop motion

Discover the basic principles of stop motion and use props, Lego, cardboard and your imagination to tell short stories on your mobile. Find out more.

Pottery

Get ready for a pottery throw down with ceramic artist and NTU alum Anna Colette Hunt. Make your own, one of a kind, candle holder using the pinch pot technique.

Creative writing

Whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced writer, you’ll find regular writing sessions and book clubs through WRAP, NTU Arts’ Writing, Reading and Pleasure programme.

This term, you can also hone your writing skills alongside Bad Betty Editor, Amy Acre, at the free WRAP Writing Masterclass and see your fellow students perform their collaborations with published writers at WRAP Live! X Bad Betty.

Theatre Visit: Punch

Join us for Punch, a play by BAFTA winner James Graham, exploring toxic masculinity, class, and forgiveness through the true story of teenager, Jacob Dunne's, journey from a mistake to redemption in Nottingham.

Gallery walkthrough

Head to Bonington Gallery for a free tour of our current exhibition, Karuppu by Osheen Siva, with BSL interpretation. While you’re there, discover Shahnawaz Hussain: My Nottinghamshire Perspectives in Watercolour and Peepshow: An Illusion Cut to the Measure of Desire in our extra gallery spaces.

You can find out more about these events as well as the rest of the NTU Arts programme by visiting our What’s On or sign up to the NTU Arts mailing list for updates, announcements and discounts direct to your inbox.
