Join the leaders of the future with our Black Leadership Programme
Published: 12/10/2026
The Black Leadership Programme (BLP) is a personal and professional development programme for second-year students of Black and mixed Black heritage.
What is the BLP?
The programme celebrates Black culture and community. It’s designed to help you build your confidence, strengthen your leadership skills and develop your network to support your personal, academic and professional success.
You don't need to see yourself as a leader to join. The BLP is designed to help you grow and reach your potential, wherever you are in your journey.
The programme runs from November – April and is delivered by student panellists, BLP alumni and NTU staff facilitators.
What can I expect from the programme?
- Social events – meet new people through games nights, sports days and community-building activities.
- Launch and celebration events – be inspired by guest speakers and celebrate your achievements with a certificate once you have completed the programme.
- Goody bag – branded merchandise including a tote bag, pen, notebook and water bottle.
- Personal development events – explore your values and strengths through creative activities and group discussions.
- Professional development events – grow your network, get career-ready and receive a free professional headshot.
- Mentoring – you'll receive tailored one-to-one support from an alumni mentor from your academic school.
Your participation will be recognised on our Live, Learn, Work platform, which records your achievements during your time at NTU.
