Facilities

• Shower facilities are available in buildings including Arkwright (basement level, ARKB111 and B102A, female and male changing rooms with several showers), Bonington (two on the ground floor, opposite BON77), Boots Library (Level 1, opposite B013, next to B09), Dryden (DRY014), Djanogly, Chaucer (two on Level 0, CHR704 and CHR705, access through bike storage cage), Belgrave Postgraduate Centre (BEL204, male shower room), Maudsley (Level 2, MAU234), Waverley (WAV126), and the Students’ Union (lower ground, female and male changing rooms).
• Lockers are available in Arkwright (drying and changing room with lockers available for students to use, requires your own padlock) and Bonington (only available to art and design students) buildings, and Boots Library.
• Student kitchens in the Dryden building (ground floor 009A), and Waverley building (second floor 204A near the lifts), with microwaves and hot water dispensers.
• Multiple water dispensers across the main buildings for you to refill water bottles and access drinking water.
• Muslim prayer rooms (separate male and female spaces with washing facilities) available on the mezzanine floor of the Djanogly building.
• Multi-faith facilities available in The Haven, Djanogly building, and the third floor of Boots Library.

Study, social and wellbeing spaces

• The Students’ Union offers a shop, multi-level gym, sports facilities, live venue, café and bar, and is the pick of the campus’ chill-out space.
• The Newton building is the central hub of the City Campus, with study areas, social spaces and catering. You can choose from Central Court, Newton Forum or Benefactors' Court to socialise in a soothing learning environment. The Ask NTU Hub is also conveniently located here and there are resource rooms available for PC use.
• Visit The Den in the Newton building, a wellbeing space designed to help you relax, de-stress, socialise, or study comfortably.
• Relax outdoors at the Boots Library rooftop garden or at Dryden Corner, a bright and airy space near Bonington building.
• We have a family study room in Boots Library (Level 1) for students needing to supervise their child(ren) when studying (tricky to find – ask at reception if needed).
• We have lots of study spaces in our Chaucer building if you’re looking for a less busy alternative to Boots Library. Any student is welcome to use the computers on Level 0, Room 1704, Room 3801, and Room 3608.
• The City Global Lounge is open to all NTU and NTIC students and colleagues, and you can find us on the ground floor in 23 Goldsmith Street. We offer the occasional free global lunch events, and you don’t have to be an international student to visit – it’s a great place for any student to come and meet new people or have some downtime.
• The Digital Media Hub has several social spaces, a contemporary café and rooftop terrace.

Food and drink

• Newton building: There is catering available in Café Newton and the Refectory (to be renamed Food for Thought).
• Boots Library: Pick up a Starbucks hot or cold drink here, along with a sandwich or study snack.
• Bonington building: Café Bonington offers freshly baked pastries, hot and cold drinks, snacks, sandwiches, paninis, soup and mac and cheese.
• Students’ Union: Has a café and bar.
• Digital Media Hub: Get a bite to eat in the student café.

Other useful things to note

• You can find the bus stop to our Clifton Campus on South Sherwood Street. Buses from the City Campus to the Clifton Campus run every 7 minutes in term time until the early hours of the morning.
• You can catch bus number 26 to Brackenhurst Campus from King Street (the journey is around 50 minutes by bus, or 30 minutes by car).
• Just over the hill at The Forest tram stop, there’s a park and ride and field space where Europe’s largest travelling fair, Goose Fair, takes place every October.

Facilities

• Shower facilities are available in Clifton Sports Hub (female and male showers in the changing rooms), Ada Byron King (Level 1, opposite 114 and Level 3, opposite 332) and Interdisciplinary Science and Technology Centre (ISC).
• Lockers available in these buildings: Mary Ann Evans (not available at the moment), Erasmus Darwin (lockers for laboratory use), IsTEC (there are lockers, that students could use with their own padlocks but they are currently all in use), Clifton Sports Hub and Clifton Library (24/7 lockers with locks that you set your own code to lock).
• Student kitchens in New Hall Block and the Wellbeing Centre (inside the George Eliot building), with microwaves and hot water dispensers.
• Multiple water dispensers across the main buildings for you to refill water bottles and access drinking water.
• The Wellbeing Centre, located in the George Eliot building (behind the Pavilion building), has kitchen facilities, a relaxation area, and multi-faith prayer facilities and wash rooms. It’s a great place to come between classes.
• The Zen Den, located on the ground floor in our Mary Ann Evans building, is a quiet space to reflect, recharge, or study.

Study, social and wellbeing spaces

• The Point is Clifton Campus’ Students’ Union complex, complete with a bar, café, nightclub, and on-campus supermarket.
• The Pavilion building is the central study and social hub, offering flexible and contemporary study spaces in a relaxing social environment. You can also access the Ask NTU Hub here. The teams can offer you a wide range of support and advice and help you get the most out of University life.
• The Erasmus Darwin and Ada Byron King buildings have some great spaces to base yourself if you’re on campus all day.
  • Erasmus Darwin: Green Zone 207 or Café Darwin on the first floor.
  • Ada Byron King: Outside resource room 106 or the coffee bar on the first floor.
• New Hall Block has an extended study space as a quieter alternative to the Clifton Library, in rooms 087 and 092.
• Need some fresh air? With 32 hectares of green space, Clifton Campus offers the perfect setting for students, colleagues, and visitors to relax and recharge outdoors.
• The Clifton Global Lounge is open to all NTU and NTIC students and colleagues, and you can find us in Mary Ann Evans, Room 126. We offer the occasional free global lunch events, and you don’t have to be an international student to visit – it’s a great place for any student to come and meet new people or have some downtime.

Food and drink

• Pavilion building: There is catering available in the Barista Café, Clifton Refectory, and Deli Refectory.
• The Point: Has a café, bar, and diner.

Other useful things to note

• The main carpark is located opposite the Health and Allied Professions Centre.
• Previous commuter students have told us that they found volunteering at NTU’s Foodshare Allotment to be a great way to meet new people.

Facilities

• Showers and lockers in the Library, Bramley building and Animal Unit/Veterinary Nursing Centre.
• Shower facilities are available in buildings including Bramley (changing and shower room with hairdryer and bench, and accessible shower too), Brackenhurst Cricket Pavilion (changing room), and Pippin Cottage (WC gender neutral with shower).
• Lockers available in these buildings: Animal Unit/Veterinary Nursing Centre (lockers only available for lab use), Pippin Cottage (lockers available to use, requires your own padlock) and the Library (six lockers available to use, the keys can be obtained from library staff. Available for four hours at a time).
• Student kitchen facilities available in Main Hall (mini kitchen with microwave, hot water, and fridge) and Brackenhurst Farmhouse (kettle and microwave).
• Multiple water dispensers across the main buildings for you to refill water bottles and access drinking water.
• Prayer rooms are available in Pippin Cottage daily from 3.30 am–11 pm:

Study, social and wellbeing spaces

• Brackenhurst Main Hall has a shared student and staff social space on the ground floor with games, quiet areas, and seating.
• Brackenhurst Library has a Glow Sensory Room, designed with neurodivergent students in mind, creating a safe and calming space to help with regulation. For study, you’ll find over 100 PCs here, plus laptops for loaning and handily-placed power outlets for your own devices. We also have a 24-hour IT room, rent a laptop service, toilets, vending machines, and card services.
• Brack Bar is a social hub with regular events, a pool table, and a beer garden.
• The Orangery café is great for relaxing between lectures.
• The Edwardian Walled Garden is a great area for mindfulness and outdoor quiet space.
• 200-hectare campus with gardens, woodland and walking routes.

Food and drink

• The Refectory: Serves hot breakfasts and lunches, desserts, snacks, and drinks.
• The Orangery: Serves hot and cold drinks, cakes, salads, sandwiches, and a wide range of tasty treats.
• Brack Bar serves alcohol and soft drinks.

Other useful things to note

• Brackenhurst Campus is 15 minutes to Southwell, and 45 minutes to Nottingham’s City Centre using Nottingham City Transport (NCT)’s Pathfinder 26 service. The bus leaves every 30 minutes Monday to Saturday during the day, hourly in the evenings, and Sunday during the day from King Street, just off the Old Market Square.
• The car park here is for staff only, however students eligible for disabled parking can apply for a pass to use the main car park.
• The Upper Close carpark in the Brackenhurst Halls of Residence has student parking (with a permit) and guest parking available.

Facilities

• Student kitchen available in the Teaching and Learning Centre, which includes a hot water dispenser, a fridge, and a microwave.
• Lockers available with keys in the Teaching and Learning Centre.
• No showers available.
• Multiple water dispensers are available across buildings for you to refill water bottles and access drinking water.
• Access to shared facilities with Vision West Nottinghamshire College, including facilities for sport, catering, beauty and health.
• A multi-faith room is available in the Teaching and Learning Centre (Room 113), open 7.30 am–6 pm.

Study, social and wellbeing spaces

• The University Centre building is where most people hang out in between lectures. It includes social spaces, a rooftop terrace, and a café.
• Access to sport, catering, and wellbeing services on site

Food and drink

• Mansfield Café: Serves hot and cold drinks, pastries, breakfast, snacks, and sandwiches.
• Refined Café at Vision West Nottinghamshire College: Serves hot food, and a range of snacks and drinks.

Other useful things to note

• The market town of Mansfield is right on the doorstep, and is home to a wide range of shops, pubs and restaurants. From the nearby Nottingham Road you can catch the Stagecoach Pronto bus, which takes 10–15 minutes to get into Mansfield.

Remember: Mansfield students can also use facilities at all other NTU campuses.
