Travel Information for Term One 2021/2022: everything you need to know
Published: 02/08/2021
With the start of the new term approaching, here’s everything you need to know about getting to University for the next academic year.
Parking at our campuses
There is no parking available to students at City Campus and parking in Nottingham City Centre is very limited and expensive. We recommend that students travelling by car use park and ride services together with the discounted ticket options provided by Nottingham City Transport and NET.
Parking is limited at Clifton Campus and students living outside NG14 can apply for a permit, together with those with extenuating circumstances. There are a limited number of permits which are sold on a first come first served basis from the NTU Online Shop from the first week in September.
Parking is free at Brackenhurst Campus for students who travel to campus on day visits. There are plenty of spaces available on site and a car sharing scheme is available to help save costs and CO2 emissions.
Parking is free at University Centre at Vision West Notts (VWN) for NTU students. NTU parking is shared with VWN staff and students.

Travelling via public transport
There are bus services run by Nottingham City Transport (NCT) that can get you to our three main campuses. The Go2 Uni 4 bus runs every seven minutes to Clifton from the city centre, and there is a regular bus service to Brackenhurst. Students using NCT services can benefit from discounted annual travel passes or more flexible Easyrider Anyday options. NCT are currently asking customers to wear face coverings and take note of the latest on-board signage. More information about travelling via bus can be found on StudentHub.
Our City and Clifton campuses are both easily accessible via tram; City Campus even has its own tram stop. Students using the tram can take advantage of discounted annual travel passes. Plus, the NETGO app makes purchasing tram tickets cheaper, quicker and easier. Nottingham Express Transit (NET) is currently asking customers to wear face coverings, and adhere to on-board signage.
Active Travel
Why not consider cycling to campus? Students can benefit from access to more than 200 hire bikes for only £49 per year, secure compounds for cycle parking at each campus, and support from the City Campus based workshop, where expert mechanics and advice is available.
Walking or running is one of the best ways to stay healthy whilst travelling to campus. NTU has created a traffic free heart of campus at the three main campuses and works with the local authorities to continually improve public facilities. Information on local walks from campus, mostly in green spaces, can be found on the sustainability web pages.
