Reducing unwanted email notifications and personalising your MyNTU dashboard could save you time and make your important information easier to find.

If you get lots of notifications from NOW or Teams and you don’t find them useful, did you know you can turn them off?

You can also get the most out of MyNTU by moving things around so that it works better for you. Move all your favourite and most-used tiles up front and centre where you won’t miss them. You can even make it your favourite colour.

Reduce the number of emails you get and kick scroll fatigue with these top tips:

1. Customise the notifications you get from NOW

  1. Click your username and then select 'Notifications'.
  2. You can now change the following settings:
    • Contact method (input the email address you want notifications to go to)
    • Summary of activity (control how often you receive summaries of the activity in your Learning Rooms)
    • Instant notifications (set individual notification preferences for each learning room-related component)
    • Customise notifications (choose whether to allow future learning rooms to send you notifications)
    • Manage my learning rooms exclusions (stop receiving notifications from specific learning rooms)
  3. After reviewing all the details, click 'Save'.

2. Customise the notifications you get from Teams

  1. Open the Microsoft Teams desktop app or log in online.
  2. Click on your profile picture and select 'Settings'.
  3. In the settings menu, select 'Notifications'.
  4. You will then be able to set your preferences on notifications such as messages, sounds, mentions, chats and channels, meetings and more.

3. Personalise your MyNTU dashboard

  1. Open MyNTU on desktop or mobile.
  2. Click ‘Personalise’ in the top-left corner of the screen.
  3. Drag and drop tiles into the places you want them.
  4. If you are not interested in seeing a tile, click the three lines at the top corner of the tile and click the eye icon. This will move that tile to the 'Hidden tiles' section on the top navigation of 'Personalise'. Some tiles, which are essential to your NTU experience, can't be hidden (e.g. timetabling, attendance etc.)
  5. Select ‘Theme’ to change the colour of your dashboard.
