Travel in Nottingham

Useful information to help you make environmentally and budget-friendly choices:

Bus

Purchase an NTU Academic Bus Pass for all NCT buses for £349, using the NCTX app. If you travel to campus three or more days a week, you will nearly halve the cost of travel through purchasing this pass upfront.​

  • Clifton Campus

NCT runs the Number 4 bus service which runs up to every ten minutes in the morning, and every 20-30 minutes throughout the rest of the day, during term-time weekdays. This service takes you to and from NTU's City Campus into the heart of the Clifton Campus in about 30 minutes.​

  • Brackenhurst Campus:​

The Number 26 runs every 30 minutes from King Street in the city centre, travelling to our Brackenhurst Campus, from Monday to Saturday. The service runs hourly on evenings and Sunday daytimes. The N26 Night bus operates until 1 am from the city centre on a Saturday.​

Tram

NET Tram runs through Nottingham, and connects the city, Nottingham train station and Clifton Campus.

Purchase a Student Annual Ticket for £365 to reduce the cost of travelling by tram. A further £50 reduction is applied when you download and buy the Academic Pass via the NetGo! App between Monday 31 August and Sunday 25 October.

If you travel between City Campus and Nottingham train station, you can purchase a 'Short Hop Ticket' for £1.50 via tapping on and off at a contactless point on the tram stop.​

Cycling

Cycling is important to us at NTU as it enhances wellbeing and helps to reduce our impact on the environment. We have various services to make cycling more accessible to and around the University:​

  • 300+ spaces in secure compounds for cycle storage
  • changing rooms and locker facilities
  • Dr Bike sessions on each campus and bike training​

Walking

Walking to campus and around Nottingham is a great way to improve your wellbeing and you can be rewarded with free coffee for doing so! Download the Moves+ app in the Apple Store or Google Play Store — it tracks your steps and converts it into points to redeem rewards.
