International Opportunities

We welcome students from over 100 countries to study here in the School of Science and Technology at NTU, and invite you to explore opportunities to study with us, whether for a degree or through one of our shorter-term study programmes. We also encourage our home students to get an international experience. You’ll be able to undertake an international placement, study abroad, attend summer school at one of our partnership universities, or volunteer through one of our NTU-led schemes/projects.

Our students leave NTU inspired with what they have learnt and experienced, ready to explore the next step in their lives.

International opportunities in the School of Science and Technology

Here at NTU, we want to encourage all of our students to be global citizens, from the moment they join us, to their graduation and future employment.

Our students can study at one of our partner universities which are based in a range of popular destinations, such as: USA, Canada and Australia.

NTU's Science and Technology undergraduate students who choose to take an international experience, will spend time abroad during year three of their course and return to NTU to complete their final year of study. We also offer summer school opportunities, for those who wish to spend time abroad but for a shorter period of time. Our PG students can also undertake year-long international placements or shorter-term research project placements at one of our institutional partners.

International mobility can benefit you in the following ways:

Enhanced employability and career prospects, including:

  • Intercultural competencies;
  • Adaptability and problem solving;
  • Resilience and tolerance;
  • Planning and organisational skills.

Personal growth and development, including:

  • Increased independence and self-confidence;
  • Communication skills and team working;
  • Valuing diversity and difference;
  • Global networking.

NTU offers support to all students throughout their global experience, from the initial planning and preparation stages through to the time abroad and finally, returning to NTU.
