Enterprising Ashfield - Sabrina & Sebastian
Sabrina and Sebastian run their family business Mr Nice Removals and took part in the growth strand of the Enterprising Ashfield project.
Enterprising Ashfield is being delivered by NTU in partnership with Ashfield District Council and is part funded by the Government's Town Fund. The project provides support to enhance business productivity and improve the skills of local residents and employees in the Kirkby-in-Ashfield and Sutton-in-Ashfield areas.
The programme motivated us by helping us to understand and have a clear breakdown of every aspect of the business and where improvements were needed.

We are a family run small business, providing domestic and commercial moves, waste removals and house clearances and storage facilities. Covering the East Midlands, UK and Europe.
Our services began in London, as a Man and a Van Service. We relocated to Nottinghamshire in 2017.
Since that time, we have been expanding our services and tailoring our services to our customers’ needs.
Offering Full and Partial Packing Service, Dismantling and Reassembling Service, Packing Materials and much more!
How did you hear about Enterprising Ashfield and its growth programme?
We were recommended by our local Job centre to Enterprising Ashfield and its Growth Programme during a difficult time for our business in 2023.
What made you want to join the programme and what did you hope to get out of it?
We were at a crossroad with our business at that time and needed some guidance and support to move forward.
Were there any challenges you were facing going into the programme?
- Staffing issues
- Financial
- Demotivation
- Lack of support
How did you find the content, pace and delivery of the programme?
The course was delivered to a high standard and was very informative, the support we have received during and after the course has been exceptional.
The pace was of the course was perfect for us, manageable for us to follow and keep up with additional task.
Print outs were provided for everything that was covered, also additional relevant links.
Has the programme helped get you to where you need to be , and what are your plans now for the business moving forward?
The programme motivated us by helping us to understand and have a clear breakdown of every aspect of the business and where improvements were needed.
Understanding and recognising problems areas and the knock on affects to other services provided.
We were offered funding, however, didn’t need to follow this up, after the changes we implemented.
Our plans for the future of the business are to have a removals software program, which would enable us to operate everything under one system, such as insurance reminders, bookings, invoices, leads, etc. Also, continue with improvements to our storage facilities.
Any other comments about the growth programme?
This programme was vital to a small business like us. This type of support and courses provided is invaluable.
Would you recommend the programme and Enterprising Ashfield to other people with their own businesses?
We would one hundred percent recommend Enterprising Ashfield to other business owners!
