Across NTU Employability there are a number of programmes available for businesses to explore. These activities offer targeted engagement solutions, aligned to specific sectors, plus opportunities to reach a range of diverse student demographics.
Grads4Nottm
This NTU-exclusive initiative offers businesses in the region the opportunity to showcase their brand and access NTU talent, by hosting students and recent graduates for two weeks of work experience.
Grads4Nottm aims to:
- promote Nottingham as a great place to live and work;
- make students aware of the types of businesses and graduate jobs available;
- help students access the growing and diverse small medium enterprise (SME) network, recognised as the largest recruiter of graduate talent in the region;
- provide local businesses with a cost-effective way to sample new talent and create a candidate pipeline for graduate opportunities.
Student Sales Academy and Digital Marketing Academy
Our award-winning Student Sales Academy (SSA) provides NTU students and recent graduates from all disciplines, the opportunity to explore how transferrable sales skills can be added to their personal attributes.
In partnership with several large and SME businesses, this career development programme:
- de-mystifies sales and the stereotypes of a salesperson,
- raises awareness of sales-related roles, the skills required and the employers who recruit to those roles,
- teaches students practical sales skills and techniques,
- connects employers with industry-ready talent.
This year the SSA has been run in parallel to the Digital Marketing Academy, giving participants flexibility to design a learning experience suited to their goals.
The Digital Marketing Academy is run collaboratively with the University of Nottingham and local SMEs, to inform, educate and inspire students and graduates looking to further their knowledge and career prospects within the field of digital marketing.
Rise initiatives
Our ‘Rise’ programme provides additional support for students who are statistically the most disadvantaged in terms of their career prospects. This includes students with low household incomes, those with disabilities, and care leavers. Students from ‘Rise’ backgrounds make up almost 50% of NTU’s population.
