Communications

Throughout your application journey, we'll send you important information via email and post. It's important that you ensure your details are up to date on UCAS for undergraduate applicants and the Applicant Portal for postgraduate applicants, so that we can send you reminders, invites and updates on your application.

Click on the undergraduate and postgraduate links to find out more about what to expect from NTU during your application journey.

Undergraduate - When do you contact me?

Throughout your application journey, we'll send you useful information via email and through the post. Make sure your details are up to date on UCAS to ensure that everything we send reaches you.

If you've given us your details before you apply, we'll regularly send out communications such as news and open day invites to keep in touch.

Once you apply you'll get an acknowledgment that your application has been received. Keep a close eye on your emails during this time. We'll contact you by email to:

  • ask for any extra information
  • invite you to interview
  • submit examples of work or further evidence should we require it.

Offer holders will receive a Your Offer pack, providing further information about NTU. This is designed to help you decide whether we're the University for you. Academic Schools also send out further information to offer holders, inviting you to any open events they may be running and providing School-specific information. We run a telephone campaign during January and February, calling offer holders to answer any questions you might have. While we try and call as many people as possible, we can't call everyone. To make sure that you're on track, we also send offer holders a reminder near to the UCAS deadline, to ensure that you reply to your offer before it expires.

Once you've chosen NTU as your firm choice, you may wait a while for your next important piece of information.

Our accommodation booking system opens in January. You'll need to use your NTU ID to log on to the booking system. We'll send your NTU ID and information about NTU accommodation closer to the time. Offer holders will also receive information about pre-enrolment conditions such as Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks, which are mandatory on some courses.

If you are successful in gaining the results you need to meet the conditions of your offer, congratulations! We'll send you an email and letter confirming your place at NTU shortly after results day. Keep these safe, as these are official documents.

We'll also send you a Starting at NTU guide along with your confirmation letter, to help you complete your enrolment and find out what’s in store at NTU. Our Welcome Week Team will also be in touch with further information about the activities and events that you can look forward to during your first weeks at NTU.

If you don't receive all of these communications, don't panic! Check your junk files in your inbox and make sure that your details are up to date on UCAS first. Certain School-specific information is only sent to some applicants. If you're concerned that an important piece of information hasn't reached you by email or post, call our Admissions Team on +44 (0)115 848 4200.
