Overview
The Road Safety Research Group develops, applies and tests innovate technological products through user centred design approaches to address a variety of road safety challenges across a variety of transportations modes.
We use a variety of qualitative and quantitative research methods including Focus Groups, Eye Tracking and Road Traffic Data to measure the effectiveness of new and existing provisions. We work closely with colleagues in Psychology particularly the Transportation Research in Psychology (TRiP) group.
Recent projects include:
- Vulnerable Road User Safety around HGV’s
- Road Flooding Signage (as featured on BBC East Midlands Today and BBC Radio Nottingham)
- Enhancing cycle safety around construction vehicles in urban environments
