Emma is a Research Fellow in the School of Animal, Rural and Environmental Sciences. Working with a wide project team based across various institutes, Emma is helping to set up and run a pilot National Hedgehog Monitoring Programme. You can find out more about this at www.nhmp.co.uk.

Career overview

Emma studied for her PhD at the University of Liverpool, working on dormouse conservation and writing the thesis 'Innovations and tools to inform hazel dormouse conservation strategies'. This work included dormouse population analysis and survey method development, in collaboration with the Cheshire Wildlife Trust. She received an Integrated Masters from the University of York in Biology.

Research areas

Research interests lie at the interface of conservation science and conservation practice. In particular, Emma's recent work has been focused mammalian population monitoring and survey methods.
