Mark Davison is an Hourly Paid Lecturer in the School of Architecture, Design and the Built Environment.

Career overview

Mark Davison graduated from the Civil Engineering degree programme at The University of Nottingham and followed this up with PhD and post doctoral research in the field of Engineering Surveying also at the University of Nottingham during the 1980’s.

He joined Nottingham Trent University as a lecturer in the Department of Civil and Structural Engineering in 1989 and has been extensively involved with undergraduate programme delivery and development ever since! Before becoming an Hourly Paid Lecturer, Mark was the Head of the Civil Engineering department.

Key areas of interest lies in the fields of engineering surveying, curriculum development and student mentoring.

Research areas

Aspects relating to the provision of survey control and the setting out processes involved in civil engineering surveying.

Integration of part-time students into the curriculum.

External activity

  • Mark has been involved with External Examining for a number of years and to date has covered the undergraduate civil engineering programmes at Kingston University 2008 - 2012, UCS 2010 - 2014, UWS 2011 - 2015, UEL 2014 - 2018, Coventry University (MEC) 2015 - 2019.
