I’m Assunta Del Buono, your Course Leader, and I’ll be your coach throughout this exciting journey. From mastering the basics to experimenting with drones, moving image and new technology, you’ll learn how to capture the emotion, energy, and stories behind sport.

Expect a supportive, creative space where you’re encouraged to take risks, grow your confidence, and find your own visual style. We work hard, laugh often, and learn from real world opportunities alongside some of the best in the industry.

Career overview

I bring extensive industry connections and expertise in both sports and photography, built on 17 years of lecturing experience. My professional background includes work as a photographer, picture editor, storyteller, and mentor - roles that have given me a deep appreciation for the human-interest stories behind every sporting event.

On a personal level I am also bringing a passion for Nottingham Forest Football Club #COYRs, an obsession with Grand Slam tennis tournaments, and a talent for power lifting which according to my bootcamp instructor, exists mainly in my own imagination #DelusionsOfOlympicGold.  These personal passions fuel my enthusiasm for sport and shape the energy I bring to the classroom.

This course is the first of its kind: a bold, pioneering degree that blends cutting-edge technology with the art of visual storytelling. Together, we’ll explore how to capture the spirit, emotion and narrative of sport like never before. It’s a thrilling time to enter this industry - and I can’t wait to see how you’ll tell the story of sport.
