Role

Laura Quick is a Senior Lecturer and Module Leader on Fashion Communication and Promotion. She integrates her 22 years of industry experience and her pedagogic research to the course, introducing the Level 4 (1st year) students to their first live projects, working with industry clients, and creating contacts to support their work experience and CVs. Laura is passionate about supporting independent creative identity and self-confidence within each individual student.

Career overview

Laura is a published Illustrator. With a focus on live drawing and fashion, her fascination with depicting relatable stories of people and lives has won awards including Creative Review Magazine Annual Award. Laura has a successful book published, and drawn live at numerous red-carpet and VIP events. Some of her most recent clients include Selfridges, Rapha, Zara, Tatler, Hermes, The Guardian, AnOther Magazine.

Research areas

Laura’s research is centred around Pedagogy, and how assessment related anxiety, school education, and modern tech impedes the growth and development of individual creative identity.

Working closely with the Mental Health Team and collaborating with other schools within NTU as well as staff on the FCP team, Laura is developing processes with the aim to ignite truly individual creative identity and self-esteem within students.
