Role
Alistair Bruce is currently Associate Dean for Research and Professor of Risk and Governance at NBS, which I joined in October 2018. My previous work experience began with a lectureship in Economics at Heriot-Watt University before I spent over thirty years at the University of Nottingham, where I served as Dean of the Business School for seven years and Deputy Dean and Director of Research for similar periods. I have published extensively in leading academic journals in the fields of Economics, Management, Finance and Business History, including Economic Journal, Economica, Journal of Economic Behaviour and Organisation, Journal of Management Studies, British Journal of Management, Organizational Behaviour and Human Decision Processes, British Journal of Industrial Relations, European Journal of Finance, Business History. I have led various funded research projects as P.I and Co-I, securing funding from ESRC, Leverhulme and various commercial sources. Much of my research has involved collaboration with the business and policymaking/regulatory communities. I have considerable international experiences as an EQUIS peer-reviewer for EFMD and an external examiner and Professeur Associe within the French grandes ecoles network. I served as Chair of the Chartered Association of Business Schools Research Committee from 2017-2020.
