Role
With over 17 years of experience in corporate marketing and more than 8 years teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, Emma brings a rich blend of industry insight and academic expertise to Nottingham Business School. Her career spans multiple sectors, having led strategic marketing initiatives, brand development, Digital Optimisation and consumer engagement projects, which provides a deep understanding of the dynamic and evolving demands of the business world.
Emma’s teaching philosophy is centred around personalisation and inclusive education with a particular passion for career development and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), with a specialist focus on neurodiversity in higher education. Emma strive to create a learning environment where every student feels seen, supported, and empowered to thrive—academically, personally, and professionally.
Emma supports students through their full journey at NBS. This includes guiding them through the transition into university life, helping them identify their individual strengths and goals, and preparing them for successful placements during their sandwich year. Emma offers continuous mentorship and advice on navigating the complexities of the modern workplace, ensuring students are confident and equipped to add value from day one.
Emma’s work is also driven by a firm belief in the power of tailored, student-centric learning to meet diverse learning needs, with a strong emphasis on practical, real-world applications of marketing theory.
Outside the classroom, Emma collaborates closely with industry partners to bridge the gap between academic learning and business practice. This helps maintain a curriculum that’s both current and career-relevant, and ensures that students leave university not just with a degree, but with a clear, supported path forward.
