Faisal Sheikh is the Accounting and Finance Course Leader, Student Experience Manager and Principal Lecturer.
Career overview
Before transitioning to academia, Faisal spent over a decade as a qualified (FCCA) audit manager, working with Big 4 accounting firms both nationally and internationally. He is now an award-winning accounting educator with 15 years of teaching and research experience across four higher education institutions. His publications include four books, 15 practice journal articles, one peer-reviewed article, and several book chapters.
Faisal's doctoral research examined the nexus between accounting fraud and corporate psychopathy, exploring automation, people-centric approaches, and blockchain technology as potential solutions to disrupt this harmful relationship. Additionally, he has successfully secured £20,000 in grant funding.
He serves as an established external examiner, has participated in curriculum and periodic reviews internationally, and is currently working towards Senior Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy. He is also a member of the ACCA Education Global Forum and was the Runner-Up for the 2023/2024 PQ Public Sector Accounting Teacher of the Year award.
