Role

Stuart is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Marketing. He teaches on various modules on undergraduate level at Nottingham Business School for several courses within the University, such as BA Marketing, BA Business Management and Marketing. He is module leader for final year Contemporary Issues in Strategic Marketing Management (level 6, 400 students), and is tutor for three seminar groups on Research Project (level 6), three seminar groups on Principles of Marketing (level 4) Two seminar groups for Strategic Marketing (level 6) and finally two seminar groups for Fundamentals of marketing (Level 4). He also supervises 14 international placement students. In the past he has been module lead for MBA and MBA executive (marketing) and Principles of marketing (Level 4) with 800 students. He was also module lead for the CIM.

Stuart is a Doctor of Business Administration. His thesis was entitled ‘market disorientation in a post legal aid economy’. Focusing upon the interplay of business orientations and organisational cultures within the  context of law.

Career overview

Stuart's previous career was as an international consultant for twenty-nine years working with a plethora of disciplines and experience obtained whilst working with organisations throughout the world. Companies such as RBS, Alcatel Lucent, Emirates Airlines, CCN/Experian, AXA, Kingston Communications, Severn Trent plc, Chartered Institute of Purchase and Supply, Tourist Boards, Shell and KPO. Extensive knowledge of the oil, transport, tourism, utilities markets.

Stuart worked at many levels and numerous markets, with an equally strong MNC and SME background. Skills and knowledge include; Operations (change management) sales, marketing, supply chain, coaching and training. A strong customer focused approach with excellent relationship management and presentation skills.
