Rebecca Swindell

Collaborations and Partnerships Senior Quality Advisor

Centre for Academic Development and Quality Dept.

Staff Group(s)
Professional Services

Role

Rebecca supports academic schools and external partners to establish and deliver high quality collaborative provision through leading, coordinating and advising on quality assurance activities. She specialises in working on large-scale collaborative projects, often with an international focus, that draw on knowledge and expertise from across the University and outside of it. She is also  responsible for advising on the quality assurance of NTU’s transnational education (TNE) and the University’s quality framework for micro-credentials and other stackable qualifications.

Career overview

Prior to working at NTU, Rebecca undertook a range of roles in schools, arts organisations, and at The University of Nottingham. She began working at NTU in 2015 for the Nottingham School of Art and Design.

Rebecca’s breadth of experience prior to joining CADQ has given her an excellent appreciation for how Universities work and why policies sometimes don’t work. Rebecca is keen for NTU’s quality policies and processes to be lean and accessible, and since joining CADQ in 2022, she has had this goal in mind and worked to deliver this.

External activity

Rebecca is an active member of the Association of Higher Education Professionals and has a particular interest in career progression opportunities for Professional Services staff.

She is also the Principal Percussionist of the Army Reserve’s Nottinghamshire Band of the Royal Engineers. Musical highlights have included short operational tours of Bangladesh, Denmark, and Cyprus, and performances at The Cenotaph, The Menin Gate, The National Memorial Arboretum, and the Lord Mayor’s Show in London.
