Role

Stuart is an Educational Developer within the Centre for Academic Development & Quality (CADQ). He works collaboratively with academic colleagues to explore and adopt innovative, inclusive and evidence-based learning and teaching practices, supporting excellent learning opportunities and outcomes for all students.

Stuart leads the Design Sprint workstream and works collaboratively in Design Sprints with course teams and other Professional Services colleagues on the design of new courses and major course changes.

Career overview

Stuart has a passion for course design as he enjoys working with colleagues across the institution and passionately believes in success for all through educational gains rather than degree classification.

Prior to joining NTU, Stuart began his career in Higher Education at Plymouth University in the Library Services department. In his roles there he supported students finding resources to support their learning and research and led on teaching students how to use assistive software. The last two years of his period at Plymouth University, his role was to provide students with IT support and producing their work.

Since joining NTU Stuart has worked as an administrator for the disability support team within Student Support before managing the Subject Administration team for the Undergraduate courses of the Nottingham Business School for six years. He then joined CADQ via a secondment for the Quality team for nine months where he predominantly worked on course design and curriculum development. This led to him joining the Academic Development team to expand his experience and knowledge.

Throughout his career there has been a focus on supporting students and making education accessible for all.
