Alison teaches flute as part of the NTU Music team.

Career overview

As an undergraduate Alison studied with Ron Marlowe and Colin Chambers before moving to London to gain her teaching qualification where she continued flute tuition with Peter Lloyd the then principal flute in the LSO.

Living in Nottingham, Alison now continues to juggle a freelance playing career with her teaching, including work with the British Philharmonic Orchestra, English Pro-Musica, Nottingham Festival Opera, South Yorkshire Symphony Orchestra, Lincolnshire Chamber Orchestra and Nottingham Philharmonic Orchestra.

Alison presently works as part of the Leadership team for Derby & Derbyshire Music Partnership, and is the Director of Music of a lively Music Centre, conducting youth wind bands and orchestras and is actively involved in many music educational projects in local schools.
